Did you know?
Might of Old Krosa is a $4.00 uncommon! This card sees play in the infect deck maximizing the damage/infect one can do for 1 mana.
Did you know?
Keen Sense is going for $5.00! This uncommon from Planar Chaos is from the same block as Might of Old Krosa and is also a narrow card played in a niche deck. That didn’t stop Keen Sense from hitting $5.00 though because the supply of uncommons from 2007 is pretty low in comparison to uncommons from today.
When decks break out like infect and boggles, the cards unique to them disappear from the Internet and increase in less than an hour. I don’t want my ability to get in to depend on my reaction speed and my ability to be free during event coverage, so when I’m bulking out cards to vendors I pick out cards that I think may have a chance to break out some day. This takes patience and pattern recognition.
It’s often not worth speculating on a card unless you can get it for next to nothing. Sometimes it’s not worth actively picking up spec targets, but if you happen to get them in bulk, just not selling them to vendors and letting them build up over time can work out. That’s what I did with Shadow of Doubt. I never sought them out, but I always liked the card and thought it had a chance, so I just never bulked it out as a bulk rare and just stockpiled them as they were bulked to me. I ended up with 14 copies for very little effort.
