Foil Lotleth Troll is only $3.50! Nonfoil copies are $2.00, so this is less than a 2x multiplier. I like these as pickups because most graveyard decks in modern going forward will want to run this guy. Regular copies are a fine pickup, but I personally believe that as time goes on and modern continues to become a mainstay, more and more players will want to foil out their decks. And if you want to cash in big, foils are the way to go. It’s also nice being one of the very few people that have these too as it gives you more bargaining power at the table.

Foil Gravecrawler from Dark Ascension is just $8.00! Non-shiny versions of this are $5.00, so again we are looking at less than a 2x multiplier. These are more expensive than the troll, but they do see some legacy play on occasion. The best time to pick these up was near rotation. Regular copies were down to $3.00, and it seemed pretty obvious that these would see eternal play so scooping them up seemed like a good play.
You can make this play now with Lotleth Troll. I don’t think they will dip lower to where they are now, but maybe there is a slight chance that they will drop to $1.50 in another month. I’ve already pulled the trigger and picked up several copies for myself, but admittedly not as many foils as I would like. What other good rotation targets are out there? There’s quite a few; name some of your favorites below!
And come out to the Giga-Bites Café M15 prerelease! I’d love to see you there, and you can pick my brain on speculation targets as much as you like!
