Did you know?

Foil Shivan Reef from Apocalypse, 9th edition, or 10th edition is $25.00! The other enemy color pain lands are worth considerably less, with the second highest being Yavimaya Coast at $15.00. I suspect this may change soon with the reprint coming in M15. Even though this has already been printed 3 times, the amount printed in M15 will probably exceed the amount printed the previous 3 times combined due to the enormous growth Magic has experienced. The reason Shivan Reef was high to begin with is because it became quite scarce, not because it saw a ton of play. If you have any old copies, liquidate them if you can.

Did you know?

Foil Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth from Planar Chaos is $60.00! Foil copies of the M15 version have not been priced on SCG yet.  This card does see some play in modern, and I suspect it will actually see some standard play too, but commander is the format causing the foils to be so high. If M15 foils are available for less than a 2x multiplier, I recommend picking them up in trade if you can.

At this time, nearly all of M15 has been spoiled. Presales for rares and mythics are available through the shop. Before I go, I want to point out one card that I think is particularly underpriced: Necromancer’s Stockpile. A deck with this card could sport Ashen Riders, Endless Obedience, and several creatures that give you card advantage with the Stockpile and help convoke a quick Endless Obedience. I’d also recommend that you pay special attention to any instant with convoke because it allows you to leave up blockers for your opponent’s attack phase and then still use them to convoke after their attack phase. Obviously Chord of Calling comes to mind with Sylvan Caryatid and Courser of Kruphix.

Did You Know will be taking a break tomorrow to celebrate the 4th of July, but we’ll be back next Monday!
